Deputy Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and committed individual to join our team as a Deputy Manager in a brand new children's residential service in Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot.

Job Overview

As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, budgets, and ensuring the quality of services provided meets expected care standards.

You will be responsible for encouraging young people to take responsibility for their own lives, supporting the manager and team, and maintaining a homely and friendly culture and environment in the homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations
  • Manage staff teams and budgets
  • Ensure the quality of services provided meets expected care standards
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the homes
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being
  • Ensure the safety of the young people and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker/Team Leader within a similar social care setting or with Young People
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent
  • Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport the young people
  • Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge
