We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Support Specialist to join our Housing First team. As a key member of our team, you will provide person-centred support to individuals experiencing homelessness, helping them to achieve stability and independence.
Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with clients, building trust and rapport to understand their unique needs and goals. You will develop and implement tailored support plans, leveraging your expertise in trauma-informed practice and housing support.
Collaborating with internal and external partners, you will ensure seamless service delivery, connecting clients with essential resources and services. Your ability to think creatively and adapt to changing circumstances will be invaluable in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to clients, focusing on their strengths and goals
- Develop and implement effective support plans, incorporating trauma-informed practice principles
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure comprehensive service delivery
- Monitor client progress, adjusting support plans as needed to promote stability and independence
- Contribute to the development of our Housing First service, sharing expertise and best practices
Requirements:
- SVQ 3 in social care or willingness to work towards
- SSSC registration or willingness to become so
- Experience in providing support to individuals with complex needs, including homelessness and mental health
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making quick decisions and prioritising tasks effectively
Desirable:
- Trauma-informed practice certification
- Assist, MHFA, or SafeTalk training
- Naloxone certification
- Mental health or substance use qualifications
