About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise and experience in social work. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex cases, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues, and contributing to the development of practice standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess complex social care needs and develop support plans for vulnerable individuals, children, and families.
  • Provide expert guidance and supervision to colleagues, including mentoring and advising on professional social work practice.
  • Manage a demanding caseload, maintaining accurate and timely records, reports, and presentations.
  • Contribute to the development of practice standards, including leading in particular areas of practice and contributing to their development.
  • Build strong, effective working relationships within the Council, with partners, and voluntary agencies.
Requirements:
  • A recognised social work qualification, such as a diploma, degree, or Masters in social work.
  • Registration with Social Work England as a registered social worker.
  • Significant experience in social work, showcasing a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of all relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance.
  • Mentoring and advising colleagues, including guiding Social Work students and newly qualified/experienced Social Work staff.
  • Chairing meetings involving clients, family members, carers, and other multi-agency professionals.
