Job Title: Senior Social Work Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Social Work Manager to join our team at Essex County Council. As a Senior Social Work Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of social workers and providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of social workers and provide guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.
  • Coordinate the nomination forum and select a cohort of children for the SHiFT programme.
  • Work directly with one child and their family to provide support and guidance.
  • Model excellence in social work practice and commit to anti-racist practices.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency networks to drive system change and improve outcomes for children.
  • Provide high-quality oversight and guidance to social workers.
  • Maintain standards and ensure compliance with ECC's Children & Families Service and SHiFT practice standards.
  • Safeguard children and follow ECC's CFS and SHiFT procedures.
  • Lead decision-making and manage personal budgets for each child.
  • Governance and reporting: contribute to programme governance and provide progress updates.

Requirements:

  • A qualified and registered Social Worker.
  • Extensive experience of working with children and young people or young adults with complex needs.
  • Experience of providing high-quality reflective and reflexive case supervision to a small team of practitioners.
  • Fundamental practice-based understanding of relevant children's legislation and evidence-informed practice.
  • Excellent communication skills and IT literacy.
  • An ability to work on your own initiative and manage competing demands.
  • A strong commitment to anti-racist practice.
  • Adept at working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and across organisational boundaries.
