Opportunity to Deliver High-Quality Diabetes Care

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Community Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading the on-going development of clinical practice and ensuring high-quality standards of care for patients with diabetes.

The successful candidate will have significant experience as a Band 7 DSN in the community, primary care, and/or inpatient setting. They will also possess excellent leadership skills, the ability to work autonomously, and a strong understanding of diabetes management principles.

About the Role

This role offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of £73,860 per annum, plus additional benefits such as contributory pension scheme, generous annual leave entitlement, and access to training and development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and committed clinical leader who is driven by challenges and demonstrates personal resilience working in a fast-moving and changing healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the on-going development of clinical practice and ensuring high-quality standards of care for patients with diabetes
  • Managing the smooth running of community diabetes services across Tower Hamlet Borough
  • Working collaboratively with external agencies involved in providing diabetes care to Tower Hamlet patients
  • Attending diabetes network meetings and stakeholder meetings to ensure service key performance indicators (KPIs) are met

Person Specification

  • First-level NMC registration
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Postgraduate diabetes course or equivalent level of knowledge
  • MSc in Diabetes or equivalent level of knowledge
