The Diabetes Times is seeking a highly skilled Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical advice to healthcare professionals, patients, and their carers. Our ideal candidate will work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist care, advice, and education for patients with diabetes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based clinical advice and guidance to healthcare professionals, patients, and their carers.
  • Work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist care, advice, and education for patients with diabetes.
  • Carry out diabetes and related diagnostic/therapeutic interventions as an independent practitioner.
  • Interpret and write reports, and commence further possible treatment based on findings.
  • Develop new skills and provide an expert, high-quality, nurse-led service.
  • Provide ongoing follow-up care and support, including home visits, telephone support, and nurse-led clinics.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in diabetes nursing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and skills.
