Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our skilled team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a particular interest in diabetes technology and patient education.

The Diabetes Centre at King's is at the forefront of advances in diabetes care, providing a range of specialist services that would give the successful candidate opportunities to develop further skills as a specialist nurse.

The successful applicant must have undertaken a recognised programme of diabetes training and have demonstrable experience of working as a diabetes specialist nurse with proven clinical skills.

Main Duties
  • Outpatient clinic reviews to support patients with diabetes technologies, such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.
  • Answering patient queries through our diabetes helpline and delivering diabetes education.
  • Reviewing patients admitted to the hospital with diabetes to ensure their care and safety is maintained.
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety both in-patient and on discharge.
