About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as Institute Business and Research Manager for the Cardiovascular and Genomics Research Institute (CGRI). The successful candidate will have a strong background in research and operational management, with the ability to drive new initiatives and facilitate research collaborations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new initiatives to facilitate research collaborations and foster a research-intensive and business-minded culture to increase income.
  • Oversee operational administration, including line management responsibilities across the Research Institutes.
  • Work with the Institute Director and Section Heads to promote the profile of the Institute.
  • Manage and resolve complex situations, with a strong focus on organisational skills and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Experience of administrative management in a research/academic setting or business setting.
  • Experience of research project co-ordination, including monitoring the preparation of and management of funding applications, budgets, and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of financial/budgetary management and reporting systems, with the ability to interpret and summarise data accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
