London Borough of Brent Schools is seeking a highly motivated and organized Academic Attendance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in promoting and improving pupil attendance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor attendance records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Analyze attendance data to identify patterns and trends, and report findings to senior leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to identify pupils at risk of persistent absence and develop intervention strategies.
  • Implement the school's attendance policy and ensure that all stakeholders understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Liaise with the local authority regarding attendance legal interventions when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school environment is desirable.
  • Be dedicated to achieving high-quality care and provision for all children.
  • Be able to work in partnership with enthusiastic and supportive staff, parents, governors, and the wider community.

Person Specification:
  • GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade C in English Language.

  • Experience analyzing data and producing reports and identifying key insights.
