Job Summary:
Vetro Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Residential Young Person Support Specialist to join their team in Wolverhampton. As a key member of the residential team, you will provide daily support and guidance to young people aged 10-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues.
About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a caring and motivated individual to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. As a Residential Young Person Support Specialist, you will work collaboratively with the management team to provide a safe and supportive environment that promotes the young people's independence and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the management team to run the shift.
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives.
- Manage challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
- Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individuals' care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
- Support difficult behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.

Salary and Rota:
The salary for this role is up to £35,600 (sleep allowance included) plus overtime available. The rota pattern is 2 on 4 off.
