About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at Area Camden. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our residential care service for young people aged 11 to 18.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in supervising and monitoring the care delivered to young people, ensuring that legal and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Supervise and develop Key/Support Workers, ensuring that supervision processes are implemented and recorded.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans for each young person, taking into account their individual needs and goals.
  • Provide high-quality personal care and attention to young people, ensuring that their rights and dignity are respected.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to promote the social and emotional wellbeing and development of young people.
  • Ensure that services are delivered in a non-judgmental and anti-discriminatory manner, challenging oppression and promoting equality.
  • Contribute to the effective running of the home, ensuring that all legislation and regulations are met, including health and safety, environmental health, and infection control.
  • Support the Registered Manager in managing budgets, staff rotas, and recruitment, ensuring that the home is well-staffed and equipped to meet the needs of young people.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in residential childcare.
  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Experience of child protection and leadership/management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and staff rotas.
  • Project management skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
