London, Greater London, United Kingdom Boston Consulting Group Full time
ROLE OVERVIEW

This is a Temporary LOA Cover for 14 months. The Global Staffing Product Director will be a key member of the Staffing and More (SAM) team, our global staffing solution. This role will act as Product Owner for a portion of our global staffing tool, responsible for leading the functional design for the consultant experience in staffing, orchestrating simplification and harmonization activities and stakeholder engagement required to implement a global staffing system. You will also be managing the Product Analyst in GS Delhi.

You will collaborate closely with Staffing colleagues across our Global, Regional, local office teams, BCGX and the Staffing & More (SAM) IT Team, as well as broader global functions (e.g. Finance, Risk, Knowledge) to ensure successful design and implementation. This is a critical role in a high priority project that is core to our organization.

In this role, you will manage the functional design and implementation for new functionality on our global staffing system, Staffing and More (SAM), including:

  • Managing the design and all phases of implementation of future SAM functionality
  • Gathering business requirements from staffing stakeholders and incorporating into the design, balancing user requirements, priority, and effort
  • Identifying opportunities to harmonize and simplify processes across the organization to ensure we optimize the design solution
  • Working closely with the SAM development team on key design decisions and modeling process flows, ensuring stakeholder input
  • Ensuring a functional design and change requests align to the system and operating model guardrails and escalating appropriately for exceptions
  • Preparing decisions for escalation, including framing the decision, making a recommendation, and identifying risk and interdependencies
  • Partnering closely with broader project team, functional experts, and technical teams to deliver SAM roadmap
  • Managing the approach for user acceptance testing, including identifying key users, escalation processes, and aligning to project timelines
  • In coordination with the Product Team Lead and Global Staffing Director, driving the roll-out plan and stakeholder engagement for Staffing stakeholders, including training and rollout approach and key project timelines
  • Understanding and helping manage the SAM backlog and prioritizing among competing requests
  • Ensuring future business needs can be met by the solution and escalating where necessary for future roadmap
  • Helping to refine user stories
  • Acting as a key change agent and ensuring regular communications to staffing functional stakeholders, including preparing engagement plans, developing materials, and where necessary representing the broader project team at events
  • Partnering with the Product Team Lead, HR Digital Product Portfolio Lead, and Technical Area Lead on quarterly priorities and frequently demoing latest sprint outcomes to the Talent Management Product Team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for leading the functional design for the consultant experience in staffing, orchestrating simplification and harmonization activities, and stakeholder engagement required to implement a global staffing system.

You will collaborate closely with Staffing colleagues across our Global, Regional, local office teams, BCGX, and the Staffing & More (SAM) IT Team to ensure successful design and implementation.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a forward thinker who leverages their experience to shape and drive change and innovation.

To be successful, you need to have a consultative approach coupled with subject matter expertise across change management, project management, and transformation.

You need to be a problem solver and change driver – we don't just fix the immediate ask, but take ambiguous issues, break them down to understand the root cause, and then design an approach and solution that not only adopts outside thinking, but also brings stakeholders along with us.

You understand that providing great service means understanding and solving the real stakeholder problems and not just doing everything your stakeholders ask for.

Building relationships will also be critical to your success – strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. You need to be able to effectively tailor your communications since we work across all levels of our organization, from C-level and senior leaders, to local teams doing the work.

Beyond being able to perform diligent, effective change and stakeholder management, balance will be crucial. You will need to listen, negotiate, and flex where needed; while also having the stamina and strength to stand your ground on matters that are important and for the greater good.

You need to be outcome-focused with the ability to proactively take initiative, use good judgment to prioritize requests, and be comfortable working with minimal direction.

You will understand the big picture, even when the work gets granular, requiring strong organizational skills – an ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize them, and carry them out independently. This role does require you to 'roll up your sleeves' and play an active role to make change happen.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

You have a bachelor's degree and preferably an advanced degree. You have experience working in a global team, across cultures and time zones. You have experience in world-class professional services, and ideally you have first-hand experience of project staffing processes. You have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence without power. You are familiar with agile processes and willing to support others to make it real.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
This role is part of the Talent Management Product Team within the HR Digital Product Portfolio. The Product Owner works closely with the Global Staffing Function as well as Regional and Local Staffing Teams, SAM IT Team, other HR Product Teams, other functions (e.g. Finance, Risk, etc), and the UX Centre of Excellence to drive design and implementation of new functionality.
