Job Purpose:

To provide specialist psychological assessment and evidence-based treatments to children and young people with diabetes and their families, working closely with the paediatric diabetes team.

Main Duties:

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify clinical needs and develop treatment plans.
  2. Deliver evidence-based interventions to individuals and families, taking into account the complexities of diabetes care.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, multidisciplinary care.
  4. Participate in clinical supervision, training, and development to maintain expertise and contribute to the service's growth.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent) or Counselling Psychology as accredited by the BPS and/or HCPC.
  • Experience working with children and young people with health conditions across the full range of clinical severity.
  • Ability to develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional, and academic settings.
