The North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a challenging and rewarding role as a Senior Clinical Psychologist. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of patients in the Medical Psychology Department at University Hospital of Hartlepool.

About the Job

This Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychological Therapist will provide specialist assessment and evidence-based support to patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate care and working closely with colleagues across the department.

Main Duties:

  1. Undertake psychological risk assessments and develop effective management strategies.
  2. Provide specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and contribute to training and education initiatives.
  3. Promote a trauma-informed service and foster a culture of empathy and understanding within the department.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare staff to deliver excellent patient care and achieve outstanding outcomes.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices and adhere to professional registration requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Doctorate level qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
  • Basis for HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist.

Experience and Skills:

  • Significant experience in specialist psychological assessment and treatment.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively and compassionately.

Salary: £52,270 - £73,664 per annum.
