We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network & Telecom Design Engineer to join our team at microTech Global Ltd.

ROLE: Rail Network & Telecom Design Engineer

LOCATION: Remote (with occasional travel to London)

Hourly RATE: Competitive salary range

DURATION: Permanent

Work mode: Hybrid (3 days in office and 2 days remote)

Brief description of the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Network & Telecom Design Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver technical solutions within the team's budgetary, programme, and quality requirements.
  2. Develop scope of works, support order materials, and engage with various internal and external stakeholders to complete rail telecommunications infrastructure projects.
  3. Propose solutions based on sound engineering principles and highlight any observed non-compliances with CDM Regulations.
  4. Challenge the brief, enabling innovative development of unambiguous engineering solutions from feasibility through to detailed design.
  5. Input into the development of design philosophies of engineering solutions.
  6. Develop an understanding of construction methodology.
  7. Attend site inspections/surveys as required to inform the design.
  8. Telecoms engineering design solutions, and check where appropriate.
  9. Produce and maintain the Designer's Risk Assessment and Decision Log.
  10. Produce clear, consistent, referenced calculations, reports, and sketches to current CoP, standards, and best practices.
  11. Clearly communicate design philosophy and requirements with other team members.
  12. Work to the principles of BIM where this has been determined as the method of project delivery.
  13. Attend Design Team meetings with the company's Project Delivery Team and/or external Clients and Stakeholders.
  14. Assist change and input into more efficient processes and design tools to assist the efficient delivery of engineering services.
  15. Appreciate the team's financial, quality, and programme targets.
  16. Promote safe working practices in all areas.
  17. Promote a culture of excellence in the Company's Design & Engineering towards its customers in order to exceed their expectations and fulfill the vision of becoming the consultant of first choice.
  18. Experience and knowledge of implementation project engineering processes covering development, design, construction, test, commissioning, and handback.
