Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Governance Expert to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing expert financial guidance to senior budget holders, ensuring accurate and relevant accounting practices, and managing commercial risks. Your expertise will play a critical role in driving business success and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide financial advice to senior budget holders, helping them understand period results and forecasts.
• Ensure accounts are accurate and relevant through period accruals, transfers, and adjustments.
• Manage commercial risks by assessing new customers or suppliers and influencing decision-makers.
• Oversee central accounting functions, ensuring efficient service delivery.
• Conduct investment appraisals and business case analyses, identifying opportunities for efficiencies and achieving area targets.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of business needs and relevant application of accounting standards.
• Membership (Or working towards a membership) of a relevant accounting body (CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent experience.
• Expert knowledge and experience of creating and maintaining accounts and annual budget.
• Significant experience within relevant finance disciplines.
• Strong excel skills and use of data manipulation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret technical accounting regulations into everyday language.
• Demonstrable effective influencing skills at a senior level.
• Significant understanding of financial control and risk.
• Excellent technical finance and accounting knowledge.
