About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice and care to patients with respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and lung cancer.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to improve patient care and reduce healthcare costs.
  • Contribute to the development of our respiratory services, including the design and implementation of new services and programs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • MRCP UK (or equivalent) and entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register.
  • Experience in teaching and education, including postgraduate teaching qualifications.
  • Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, relatives, and staff.
  • Information technology skills and ability to use electronic patient records.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Higher Degree or postgraduate prizes and awards.
  • Experience in research methodology and clinical audit.
  • Leadership skills and ability to present at local meetings.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
