About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist to join our team as a Technical Lead in the Fuel Performance and Storage department. This two-year secondment offers a unique opportunity to take on a technical lead role in some of our ongoing projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide technical supervision and leadership over the storage of fuels at Sellafield, including development and implementation of drying and active corrosion rigs.
  • Perform technical lead reviews and approvals of selected reports generated within the Fuel Performance and Storage area.
  • Ensure quality assurance arrangements are sufficient to assure the quality of results.
  • Support the Project Manager in reviews of the project to identify lessons learnt and suggest improvements.
Requirements
  • Degree or higher qualification in a science or engineering related discipline.
  • Experience in the provision of technical supervision.
  • Excellent data-taking/analysis skills and aptitude for experimental work.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
