Senior Nuclear Operations Manager

About Our TeamOur innovative team offers an end-to-end service with a proven track record in remote engineering, design and robotics. We provide mechanical and electrical design, development and deployment of purpose-built, remotely operable inspection and intervention systems for use within nuclear production and power plants, as well as decommissioning activities.
The RoleWe seek a motivated individual to lead our dedicated team of experts based at NNL's Workington Laboratory. You will coordinate and direct the operational activities within the Remote Engineering, Design and Robotics team, ensuring safe and successful delivery of customer work scopes and continuous improvement of team activities.
Your Key Responsibilities- Accountable for EHSS&Q within your team: duty of care for all staff, ownership and safe operations of equipment and facilities, delivery of projects, programs and technical work.
- Responsible for all resources within your team: staff leadership, performance, availability, SQEP, competency review, development, technical training, progression and recruitment, facilities and equipment maintenance, renewal, disposal, repair, inspection, access and utilisation.
- Supports budgetary control associated with your team and measured against KPIs: staff costs including recruitment, training, progression, travel and subsistence, facilities and equipment costs maintenance, renewal, disposal, repair, inspection, access and utilisation.
- Accountable for all customer delivery associated with your team: working with account directors and customer workstream leads to engage with customers and maximise business opportunities.
- Accountable for cultural and business strategies associated with your team: development of the team in line with business requirements, recognising technical advancements, team strategy development, implementation and review, quality of science and customer delivery, people performance, development and cultural change, working to high quality standards in a highly regulated environment.
We offer a competitive salary package (£60,000 - £80,000 per annum) and a range of benefits.
Desirable Criteria- Previous experience of working in a highly regulated environment such as Nuclear or COMAH.
- Familiarity with engineering design practices and procedures associated with nuclear engineering projects.
- Experience of nuclear operations and understanding of nuclear safety and nuclear security culture.
