Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our Somerset Additional Housing Service Team in Wells. This role involves providing intensive housing management services to vulnerable individuals experiencing mental health issues, promoting independence and sustainment of tenancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs and risks of tenants and develop personalized support plans.
  • Provide robust and intensive housing management services to promote independence and empower individuals to sustain their tenancies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and referrals.
  • Process tenancy sign-ups and property re-lets, and manage day-to-day operations of the service.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health issues, preferably in a housing environment.
  • Excellent administration, organization, and planning skills.
  • Competence in using IT systems, including Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
  • Familiarity with tenancy/housing management practice, lettings procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of Welfare Benefits, Housing Benefit, and Universal Credit.
