About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Older Persons Mental Health. As a key member of our Community Mental Health Team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients in the Mendip Area.

The ideal candidate will have experience in assessment and management of older adults, with a strong focus on providing effective multidisciplinary collaborative care. You will work closely with community teams, providing consultation, attending team meetings, and offering case discussion and advice as needed.

As a Responsible Clinician, you will be responsible for community patients subject to a compulsory treatment order under the Mental Health Act (CTOs). Additionally, you will provide Mental Capacity Act s49 reports for patients in your community area.

This is a permanent, full-time 10 PA role position, although a part-time position would be considered. There is also an opportunity to undertake an additional 1 SPA for enhancements to the role.

The successful candidate will have excellent clinical leadership skills, with the ability to provide visible and clear guidance to the mental health service both locally and across the Trust.
