About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Helpdesk Support Specialist to join our team at Gallagher Bassett. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing first-line support to our users, resolving technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our desktop infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line support for all IT infrastructure and internally developed systems via the telephone and ticketing system.
  • Liaise with second and third-line support staff in the resolution of support requests, escalating to wider scope Corporate IT teams where appropriate.
  • Support users both in person and via remote tools.
  • Assist with ensuring that IT infrastructure is optimally installed, maintained, and operated.
  • Assist with ensuring IT systems adhere to availability, performance, and data integrity SLAs.
  • Assist with administering user accounts and access within the business.
  • Participate in and contribute to team meetings.
  • Contribute to documentation of infrastructure systems.
  • Proactively identify enhancements to IT service offerings.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with previous experience gained working as a first-line helpdesk technician in a commercial environment. You should have a strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 10/11 and Office 365, as well as Active Directory domains, Microsoft Exchange, and software management solutions.

You should also have experience with administration of Active Directory user accounts and computers, knowledge of networking fundamentals, including network hardware configuration, and knowledge of desktop applications in Windows environments.

In addition, you should have the ability to communicate effectively with business users and fully understand their requirements, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving and improvement to processes and quality of service.
