Job Title: Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker

Job Summary:

Polaris Community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our residential service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical, social, and emotional care and development of children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people during nighttime hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and colleagues, promoting a stable and secure environment.
  • Participate in activities and bedtime routines that are tailored to individual needs, promoting emotional well-being and social development.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, utilizing computer systems to ensure efficient documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with out-of-hours services, responding to requests and questions in a professional manner.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities, enhancing skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care.

Requirements:

  • Experience in childcare or a related field, with a strong understanding of safeguarding principles and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating energy and enthusiasm in the role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and listen to children and young people.
  • Organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to work towards relevant qualifications.
