Job Summary:

The Hepatitis C Trust is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Policy and Campaigns Officer to lead our work driving equity in healthcare and securing justice in the Infected Blood Scandal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive policy and campaigns strategy to ensure everyone affected by the Infected Blood Scandal can access justice and that the Inquiry recommendations are rapidly acted upon by the UK Government.
  • Lead the development of the policy and campaigns strategy for our new Inclusion Health programme, focused on improving health and access to health services for marginalised and excluded populations.
  • Build strategic partnerships with like-minded organisations to ensure Government takes a long-term and evidence-based approach to hepatitis C elimination, meeting our target to eliminate hepatitis C in the UK by 2030.
  • Provide policy and campaigns expertise to inform and support the work of The Hepatitis C Trust's campaigners' network and public and political engagement efforts.

Requirements:

  • Strategic thinking and great political and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working directly with communities and experience of policy, public affairs and/or campaigning work.
  • Understanding of inequalities and/or experience of working with 'Inclusion Health' populations, including people experiencing homelessness, the criminal justice systems, drug use and/or other exclusion.
  • Lived experience is always a huge asset.
  • A track record of working on campaigns that have contributed to policy or other social change.
