About the Role

The Hepatitis C Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Policy and Campaigns Lead to join our team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our policy and campaigns work, driving our influencing strategy, and developing and delivering our policy and campaigns plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Policy and Campaigns Work: Develop and implement our policy and campaigns strategy, working closely with the Chief Executive and Management Team to ensure our influencing work is effective and impactful.
  • Drive Influencing Strategy: Lead the development and delivery of our influencing strategy, including driving our work on the UK Infected Blood Inquiry and new compensation system, and developing the policy and campaigns strategy for our new Inclusion Health programme.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with like-minded organisations to ensure Government takes a long-term and evidence-based approach to hepatitis C elimination.
  • Develop Campaigns and Materials: Develop and deliver campaigns and campaign materials to support our policy and influencing work, including research, influencing decision makers, building coalitions, and developing public and political support for our aims and our communities.
  • Represent The Hepatitis C Trust: Represent The Hepatitis C Trust with a range of external audiences, including Government, Parliament, and the media.

Requirements

  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic thinker with great political and communication skills, enthusiasm for working directly with communities, and experience of policy, public affairs, and/or campaigning work.
  • Policy and Campaigns Experience: A track record of working on campaigns that have contributed to policy or other social change, and experience of developing and delivering policy and campaigns plans.
  • Communication and Influencing Skills: Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build influential relationships and represent The Hepatitis C Trust with a range of external audiences.
  • Understanding of Inequalities: An understanding of inequalities and/or experience of working with 'Inclusion Health' populations, including people experiencing homelessness, the criminal justice system, drug use, and/or other exclusion.
