Job Title: Senior Public Affairs and Policy Officer

Job Summary:

FareShare is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Public Affairs and Policy Officer to join our team. As a key member of our public affairs team, you will play a critical role in advancing our policy agenda and driving positive change in the food redistribution sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective stakeholder engagement strategies to build relationships with government bodies, media, and academia.
  • Produce high-quality policy briefings, reports, and other written materials to articulate FareShare's policy goals.
  • Support the planning and execution of public affairs events, including parliamentary engagements and industry conferences.
  • Collaborate with the Public Affairs, Policy and Campaigns Consultant to advance FareShare's policy objectives.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working in politics, policy, or research for an MP, political party, government department, think tank, charity, agency, or similar organisation.
  • Extensive experience producing well-researched briefings, reports, and other written material.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed research and academic skills.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and manage priorities.
  • Experience in food policy, environmental policy, or social policy is highly desirable.
  • Ability to understand data to support evidence-based policy recommendations.
  • Flexible approach and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
