Job Description

MWH Treatment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Manager to join their Programme Management team in the Essex and Suffolk area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage planning services across multiple business units, providing specific planning functions for business unit programmes of work.
  • Lead and develop a team of planning professionals, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver high-quality planning services.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to understand the complexities of integrated programmes, including design, construction, commissioning, and interface with third-party partners.
  • Utilize planning systems, including Primavera and Microsoft Project, to manage and coordinate programmes of work.
  • Provide programme management for a portfolio of projects and programmes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Monitor progress against plans, identifying problem areas and implementing corrective actions to minimize company risk.
  • Develop and implement resource planning and levelling strategies to ensure the best fit for projects within the overall portfolio.
  • Produce schedules for materials and equipment, updating regularly and analyzing the implications of updates.
  • Prepare and update project plans for progress reports and applications for payment.
  • Assist with programme submissions for requests for extension of time and provide programme/progress information in support of Earned Value Analysis.
  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and benchmarking processes to measure planning performance.
  • Supervise and develop subordinates, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver high-quality planning services.
  • Implement Company Procedures and ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Reduce waste to a minimum from all departmental activities and assist with minimizing project and sub-programme outturn costs.
  • Assist with income forecasting and provide programme management support to the Programme Manager.
