Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Development Management Planning Officer or Policy Planning Officer to join our dynamic team in Essex. As a Senior Planning Officer, you will be responsible for managing complex cases and leading or playing a major role in achieving larger/high-profile projects across a range of service/partnership areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex cases and lead or play a major role in achieving larger/high-profile projects
  • Represent Essex County Council and engage with key agencies and stakeholders to deliver policy outcomes
  • Give evidence at plan examinations, public inquiries, or similar
  • Build effective relationships in an agile environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Deliver innovative solutions to demonstrate capabilities and impact
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent by experience with an MRTPI qualification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area
  • Evidence of successfully managing complex cases and leading or playing an increasingly major role in achieving larger/high-profile projects
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of planning policy and legislation and Government guidance on planning issues
  • Confident manner and approach in representing Essex County Council and engaging with key agencies and stakeholders
