About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Senior Sister to join our Liver Surgical Ward team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who is looking to develop their leadership skills and take on new challenges.

As a Band 6 Senior Sister, you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and support.

The ideal candidate will have recent acute liver medical or surgical experience and be able to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

The salary for this role is £43,041 per annum, which is a competitive rate for a nursing professional in the UK.

Requirements
  • Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register
  • Substantial post-registration experience working in a complex healthcare setting or acute NHS care setting
  • Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in area supplemented by specialist clinical and/or managerial training and CPD
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding/experience/willingness to be a practice-based supervisor/assessor as detailed in the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment
  • Professional portfolio which demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration
