About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Governance Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical negligence and employer/public liability claims, with excellent communication and time management skills. They will be knowledgeable in litigation and coronial processes and able to work calmly and confidently under pressure.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the resolution of individual claims, including providing feedback on lessons to be learned, making a positive impact to clinical governance and patient safety teams.

Main Duties
  • Manage a busy and mixed caseload of clinical negligence/employer/public liability claims in accordance with Civil Procedure Rules and NHS Resolution and Trust policies and guidelines alongside Coroner investigations and Inquests.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regular analysis and interpretation of complex information.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience in clinical negligence/employer/public liability claims.
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical knowledge in areas relevant to legal healthcare practice.
