Research Position

The University of Cambridge invites applications for a Research Associate position to work on a project exploring the demographic changes in England and Wales during the mid-nineteenth to early twentieth-century.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting archival research, analyzing historical censuses, and identifying sources related to local labor markets, education provision, and public health measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze primary sources from national and local archives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues in the Department of Geography.
  • Contribute to the development of the project's research plan and objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A PhD in History or related social science/humanities subject.
  • Post-graduate research experience in sourcing, handling, and processing historical sources.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.

Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: The Faculty of History at the University of Cambridge.
