Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

The University of Cambridge invites applications for a doctoral studentship in the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership. This exciting opportunity is part of a collaborative project co-supervised by Professor Amy Erickson and Dr Alexis Litvine. The successful candidate will work on a project focused on digitised fire insurance records from the late seventeenth to the mid-nineteenth century.

This project offers a unique chance to develop skills in palaeography, large-scale data analysis, and digital mapping. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the history of London's built environment. In the final year, the candidate will help prepare an exhibition on the archive and their research for presentation at Aviva's headquarters and central London office.

The DTP studentships provide an annual maintenance grant to cover living costs and university tuition fees at home fee level. The gap between the home and overseas fee rates will be covered by the University through internal co-funding for international candidates.

Informal enquiries about the project should be directed to the University supervisor. The application deadline is to be determined.

The University values diversity and is committed to equality of opportunity.
