Strategic Public Health Leadership Role for Improved Population Wellbeing

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced public health professional to join our team as a Public Health Consultant. The successful candidate will lead on improving the health and wellbeing of residents, working closely with the Director of Public Health and other consultant colleagues.
This is a senior role within the local health and wellbeing community, requiring strategic leadership to enable delivery of relevant outcome indicators from the public health, NHS, and social care outcome frameworks. The postholder will work across organisations, influencing budgets and advocating for change to improve population and planetary health.
The specific purpose of this position is to deliver strategic leadership for improving health and wellbeing outcomes for older people, individuals with learning disabilities, and enhancing public mental health while preventing mental ill health. This will involve working at a population level, commissioning services and collaborating with partner organisations to achieve better outcomes.
The successful candidate will also provide specialist public health input to the Adult Social Care Directorate and associated commissioning, incorporating research evidence, innovative models, and evaluation.
