About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join our Digital Data & Technology Services (DDTS) team. As a Programme Manager, you will play a critical role in managing programmes of related NHSBT projects from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, support, and monitor the progress of programmes, maintaining up-to-date programme plans and reporting.
  • Manage internal resources and external suppliers and consultants.
  • Ensure programme and project deliverables are tightly linked to the achievement of strategic initiatives for the business unit.
  • Regularly suggest changes to policy/service development that will impact beyond your area of work.
  • Responsible for the planning, structuring, leading, and overseeing implementation of programmes, and escalation of issues relating to delivery or scope.
  • Ensure adherence to programme objectives.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of the NHSBT Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management tools and methods.
About You

We are looking for an individual with extensive, practical knowledge of benefits delivery by the formal management of strategic business programmes. You will have extensive experience of formal management of complex programmes/projects, including the use of formal project management tools for the full life-cycle of large-scale, complex programmes/projects in a real-world environment.

You will also have proven experience of benefits management and realisation in the formal programme context, as well as experience of working with information technology using Microsoft Office packages (Project, Outlook, Visio, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint).

A degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g., business, management, information systems) and post-graduate level specialist qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience in one of the above specialist areas or similar is required. A Practitioner Certificate in PRINCE 2 or equivalent qualification is also necessary.

What We Offer

We offer a hybrid working option, and the successful candidate may be based at any of our main centres in the UK. The role requires travel and spending time away from base, which can involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
