London, Greater London, United Kingdom University Partnerships Programme Full time

A successful university campus is about more than just buildings – it's about creating a sense of home that helps students feel safe, secure, and thrive. At University Partnerships Programme, we understand this importance and have a dedicated onsite team offering facilities management services to support the safety of our buildings and ensure students enjoy a high quality of life.

Our current opportunity is for a Facilities Management Assistant to join our Kings Cross/Euston team.

This is a permanent, part-time position working 24 hours per week from 2pm to 8pm on a 4 on 4 off work pattern over 7 days. The salary is £14,052.77 per annum.

The Facilities Management Assistant will support the team in providing an excellent customer service and secure environment for residents to live and study. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a comprehensive reception service to students and office staff, keeping records of visitors, contractors, and issuing keys when required
  • Assisting managers in coordinating on-site activities and day-to-day administration
  • Operating a computer-based property management database to monitor reactive work and planned maintenance, completing reports as necessary
  • Conducting regular walks around the residence and grounds, reporting any security or safety issues
  • Monitoring and controlling health, safety, and maintenance standards within the residence and grounds
  • Controlling out-of-hours access to the residence, ensuring compliance with fire, health, and safety procedures
  • Responding to fire alarm activations and liaising with emergency services
  • Undertaking training as required and acting as the appointed First Aider
  • Liaising with other UPP staff, university clients, sub-contractors, and conference delegates
  • Monitoring student conduct, encouraging reasonable behaviour, and liaising with student support services as necessary

We are looking for someone with experience in a similar role and environment, possessing great communication, organisation, and administrative skills, along with attention to detail and a passion for delivering excellent results.

The successful candidate will be flexible to work additional hours when needed, especially during main student arrival and departure weekends.

We care about the experience of our residents and invite you to join our friendly team to make a positive difference in the lives of students living away from home.

What we offer: A fun and interesting work environment, a competitive salary, and a great benefits package including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life insurance, pension, training, two paid volunteering days each year, cycle to work scheme, store discounts, and more.

We welcome all applications and recognise the value of a diverse and inclusive culture that reflects the communities we work with and has a positive impact on our people, students, and university partners.

Innovation, Sustainability, Community, Partnership, and Respect are our core values, outlining what is important to our business and our people.

We are a team with energy, pace, and passion; if that sounds like you, we encourage you to apply.
