About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Adult Community Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry to join our team at Goodmayes Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide senior medical support, direct input on clinical cases, and guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.

The successful candidate will work alongside two full-time Consultant Psychiatrists, a 0.6wte Associate Specialist, and 3wte Core Trainees in the service. You will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of care in the area where you work.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current developments in mental health care and be able to demonstrate innovation, motivation, and passion for adult mental health care. They will also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to adult male patients with mental health needs within the inpatient setting.
  • To provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases.
  • To provide guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.
  • To work directly with adults and their families and liaise as appropriate with community adult consultant psychiatrists and specialty doctors in mental health.
  • To develop links already established with local acute trusts A&E departments and adult services.
