Job Overview

Job Title: Principal Engineer – Product Safety

Location: Hybrid and flexible working arrangements are available.

Salary: Up to £60,100 depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Product Safety processes and produce deliverables.
  • Manage hazards, risks, and associated mitigations, contributing to the development of the hazard log and information maturity.
  • Develop safety arguments for the safety report.
  • Organise and facilitate HAZIDs and review meetings, contributing to other HAZIDs when required.
  • Take responsibility for product safety assessment against major subsystems or key complex technologies.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Experience in product safety management processes and techniques.
  • Familiarity with report writing and developing safety arguments.

Desirable Skills and Experiences:

  • Experience leading hazard identification meetings.
  • Background within a Naval/Maritime environment or similar highly regulated industry.

The Product Safety Team:

As a Principal Engineer in the Product Safety team, you will be reporting into the Product Safety Manager and will be involved in the Canadian River Class Destroyer programme. This is an exciting long-term global naval programme in which you will work with international customers and stakeholders.
