About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Functional Skills Educator to join our team at Education for Industry Training (part of Education for Industry Group). As a Functional Skills Educator, you will play a crucial role in planning, teaching, and supporting our Apprentices to complete their Functional Skills Level 2 qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver classroom and workplace-based sessions to support Apprentices in achieving their Functional Skills qualifications
  • Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet the needs of individual Apprentices
  • Assess and provide feedback on Apprentices' work to support their progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and curriculum requirements to ensure teaching is relevant and effective
Requirements
  • Teaching qualification (Cert Ed, DET, or PGCE) or equivalent
  • Level 2 qualification in Maths and English or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Functional Skills National Curriculum requirements and experience in developing resources and assessing learners' work
  • Experience in delivering a learner-centred approach to education and supporting learners with additional learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to think creatively and constructively
  • Caring and compassionate approach to education
