Business Development Manager - European Roadfreight

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to focus on European Roadfreight and Customs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing core services for our client, a leading international Freight and Logistics provider.

The role will involve fieldwork, including identifying and targeting potential new clients, as well as working closely with existing customers and colleagues to strengthen existing relationships. This is a hybrid working arrangement, split between home, road, and the office.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, be self-motivated with a hard-working driven ethos, and have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of an established team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate sales activities, focusing on European road transport and customs
  • Develop business relationships with existing and new customer base
  • Identify sales leads and develop core services
  • Prepare, deliver, and follow up quotations and leads
  • Record, report, and analyze the outcomes
  • Have a strong understanding of freight forwarding, particularly road freight and customs
  • A knowledge of Ocean and Airfreight would be an advantage

We're keen to talk to people who have at least 2 years proven business development experience in freight forwarding background, who have connections within the industry.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working 9am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday. In return, the successful candidate will be offered an attractive package with a basic salary in the region of £40 to £50k, plus yearly sales bonus, as well as private medical health scheme and company pension, 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays). A car allowance, laptop, and phone are provided.
