Women's Rights Policy Lead

This Senior Consultant role is a key position in advancing the sex-based rights of women and girls. The appointee will lead on policy development, parliamentary liaison, and public affairs.
We are looking for an experienced individual with a strong understanding of policy processes in the Labour Party, trade unions, and parliamentary procedures. The successful candidate will have a broad alignment with a democratic socialist political perspective and understanding of a socialist and materialist approach to tackling the oppression of women as a sex class.
The appointee will be responsible for leading the development of the parliamentary affairs strategy for LWD, developing and strengthening relations with parliamentary and government stakeholders, and identifying strategic opportunities to influence policy in support of women's sex-based rights.
They will also organise, commission or draft and edit policy briefings on key issues for Labour parliamentarians, help organise regular in-person briefing sessions, and develop and strengthen networks and relationships with policy experts, legal advisors, and sister campaign groups.
The successful appointee will have good ICT skills and the ability to learn to use new platforms, commitment to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and data protection, and strong communication skills and ability to make effective contributions within parliamentary settings.
The estimated salary for this role is £55k per annum pro rata.
