About the Role:

The Global Intelligence and Analytics (GIA) consulting team at S&P Global is seeking a seasoned expert in trade policy to lead client engagements and develop strategic solutions. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape our customers' strategies and planning, with a focus on analyzing policy issues related to trade and FTA policies, trade economics, direct investment flows, economic impact, and scenario analysis.

This position requires strong expertise in trade negotiations, trade agreements, and trade policy formulation, as well as experience in economic development and planning, macroeconomic modeling, and research. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or master's degree in Economics, with 10 years of work experience, preferably in consultancy and/or public policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead client engagements and develop technical and strategic solutions
  • Analyze policy issues related to trade and FTA policies, trade economics, direct investment flows, economic impact, and scenario analysis
  • Develop and implement custom models, scenarios, indices, and analysis systems to inform critical decisions
  • Collaborate with senior client leaders, from government policymakers to corporate executives, to share and guide policy making and senior-level decision-making
  • Manage large-scale projects and deliver high-quality results, working closely with a world-class team of experts and proprietary models and data

Requirements:

  • PhD or master's degree in Economics
  • 10+ years of experience in consultancy and/or public policy, preferably with expertise in trade negotiations, trade agreements, and trade policy formulation
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to deal with scaled datasets and interpret economic data
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective internal and external relationships across multiple stakeholders
  • Proven project management skills and experience leading client engagements
  • Fluency in English, preferably also Arabic speaker
  • Travel requirement: frequent travel throughout Europe and the ME region for client contact, project management, and business development efforts
