Residential Children's Services Deputy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Residential Children's Services team at Polaris Community. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our residential home, providing a safe and supportive environment for young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Manage and lead a team of Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare and support to young people.
- Safeguarding and Risk Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of young people in our care, complying with company policies and procedures, and reporting any concerns to the designated safeguarding officer.
- Staff Supervision and Development: Provide supervision and support to Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers, promoting their development and contributing to the creation of a cohesive team.
- Operational Management: Work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the residential home, including managing budgets, resources, and staff rotas.
- Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, staff, and external agencies, promoting effective multi-agency working and contributing to the achievement of positive outcomes for young people.
- Education and Qualifications: Working towards or hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent, with a commitment to completing a Level 5 Diploma within 6 months of appointment.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior, with experience of working with outside agencies, other professionals, parents, and families.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent report writing and numeracy skills, with the ability to relate to young people with empathy and a commitment to high standards of childcare.
- Competitive Salary: Up to £35,213.36 per annum, including sleep-in shifts.
- On-Call Payments: £10 for weekday shifts and £50 for Saturday and Sunday shifts.
- Ofsted Bonus: £200 for a Good report and £500 for an Outstanding report.
- Holiday Allowance: Generous holiday entitlement.
- Pension Scheme: 3% Employer contribution.
