We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Residential Children's Services team at Polaris Community. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our residential home, providing a safe and supportive environment for young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Manage and lead a team of Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare and support to young people.
- Deputise for the Home Manager in their absence, delivering supervision and ensuring the smooth operation of the home.
- Safeguarding and Welfare
- Ensure the safety and well-being of young people in our care, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Comply with and enforce company guidelines on Codes of Conduct, promoting a positive and respectful culture within the home.
- Operational Management
- Assist in the development and delivery of the objectives identified in young people's Plans.
- Ensure the staff team contributes to the reviewing and monitoring process in the development of Care Planning.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Promote effective multi-agency working and positive relationships with local authorities, other professional agencies, and significant others.
- Communicate effectively with staff, young people, and external partners to ensure the smooth operation of the home.
- Qualifications and Experience
- Working towards or hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
- Skills and Abilities
- Excellent report writing and numeracy skills.
- Well-organised with excellent administration and IT skills.
- Able to relate to young people with empathy and commitment to a high standard of childcare.
- Personal Qualities
- Strong motivational, management, and leadership potential.
- Able to supervise, support, and develop Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to create a cohesive team.
- Competitive Salary and Benefits
- Up to £35,213.36 per annum.
