Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Staff Psychology Service. As part of our team, you will play a key role in providing psychological support to our staff, helping them to manage the emotional impact of working in the NHS.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and formulation for teams and staff members.
  • Develop and deliver bespoke interventions and resources to support staff wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify needs and develop proactive initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of the Staff Psychology Service, working closely with the Lead and Principal Psychologists.
  • Maintain an awareness of the impact of challenges on staff wellbeing, reporting concerns through appropriate channels.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied Psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the BPS.
  • HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist with Chartered Status.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
  • Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees.
  • Registration with BPS or UKCP.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Evidence-based practice relevant to the role of working with people with mild to moderate mental health problems.
  • Risk assessment and risk management.
  • Legislation in relation to the client group and mental health.

Skills

  • Adapt creatively the evidence base for interventions relevant to NHS Staff with significant and complex mental health difficulties.
  • Provide effective teaching, training, consultancy and clinical supervision for teams.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake lead practitioner responsibilities.
