We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Staff Psychology Service at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to provide evidence-based psychological interventions and support to our staff, promoting their wellbeing and resilience in the face of challenging work environments.
Main Responsibilities- Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and formulation for teams and staff members.
- Develop and deliver bespoke psychological interventions and resources in collaboration with colleagues.
- Conduct psychological debriefs in response to incidents and maintain an awareness of the impact of challenges on staff wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify needs and develop proactive initiatives to support staff wellbeing.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs and workshops to promote psychological thinking and wellbeing.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of applied psychologists and contribute to the development of our Staff Psychology Service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with our Lead Psychologists and contribute to the development of our service.
Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied Psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the BPS.
- HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist with Chartered Status.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable Qualifications
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
- Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees.
- Registration with BPS or UKCP.
Experience and Knowledge
- Evidence-based practice relevant to the role of working with people with mild to moderate mental health problems.
- Risk assessment and risk management.
- Legislation in relation to the client group and mental health.
- Exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care.
Skills
- Adapt creatively the evidence base for interventions relevant to NHS Staff with significant and complex mental health difficulties.
- Provide effective teaching, training, consultancy and clinical supervision for teams.
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake lead practitioner responsibilities.
