Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Shift Engineer to join our engineering team at The Other House. As a Shift Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our Residence club and the systems on property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire and life safety systems.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our residents.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Provide excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with energy management and conservation practices.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Shift Engineer/Engineer or in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Technical certifications or trade licenses are desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire and life safety systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests, colleagues, and external contractors.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces if required.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and building codes and regulations.
