For UK Travel, our mission is to create value for our stakeholders by providing a platform for global brands in airports, hospitals, rail stations, and other markets. Our office is based in a vibrant part of central London, close to Liverpool Street Station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximise commercial performance across all partnerships, ensuring all levers are fully utilised.
  • Manage sales, waste, availability, and margin targets for all partnerships, including target agreements with partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and address margin issues with partners, ensuring prompt action is taken.
  • Coordinate and implement key commercial asks on behalf of stakeholders, ensuring full settlements and actions are completed.
  • Drive commercial performance through partnerships, delivering budgets and improving margin and sales.
  • Flag and address risks and opportunities on partnership P&Ls.
  • Provide commercial performance insights to internal stakeholders, participating in key trading meetings and forums.
  • Contribute to partnership governance meetings, providing commercial performance input.
  • Develop a deep understanding of franchise models, identifying opportunities and risks to maximise return.
  • Assist with financial accounting issues, following up with partners as required.
  • Use data to gain insights into performance, making recommendations for action with current partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the Insights team to maintain a current and accurate view of partnerships' role in WHSmith.
  • Provide market analysis of partnership opportunities and markets we should be in.
  • Support FA and contract negotiations, providing supporting insight and analysis.
  • Develop a channel and partner strategy for the next 3 years.
  • Monitor KPI performance of partnerships, flagging any risks of compliance.
  • Contribute to the development of Joint Business Plans for all partnerships, ensuring they are robust and drive growth organically.

Requirements

  • First-hand experience managing trade for franchise partnerships.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to drive clear actions from analysis.
  • Understanding of the retail and hospitality markets and their performance in Travel.
  • Experience managing levers in a Franchise Agreement.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, adaptable to different styles.
  • Evidence of stakeholder management across multiple teams.
  • Excellent understanding of P&L analysis and the ability to drive improvement.
  • Evidence of driving commercial performance through a Hospitality partnership and a Joint Business Plan.
  • Managing relationships with integrity.
