Role Overview:

As a Construction Estimator, you will be part of the estimating and sales teams, contributing to targets and company objectives. You will be responsible for conducting accurate building estimates for a range of projects within the Mission Critical Solutions portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough building estimates for various projects within the MCS portfolio
  • Develop innovative solutions to meet client requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and competitors' methodologies
  • Prepare proposal submissions, including solution and option appraisal of new project delivery methods
  • Improve communications, management procedures, and systems to maximise profitability and operational efficiencies
  • Implement best practices and common practices across the division to establish meaningful commercial and operational data
  • Obtain specialist subcontractor costs
  • Read and understand client requests and documentation
  • Attend site visits as required across the UK as part of the bid process
  • Assist in the production of correspondence and documentation
  • Update Pipeline Reporting System and contribute to the generation of BD Management information reports
  • Progress submitted tenders
  • Assist in the formulation of tender returns
  • Establish agreed benchmarks for performance
  • Measure performance versus contracted requirements
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives in line with contractual obligations
  • Interact with client organisations as required, providing meaningful reports and proactive data and information

Person Specification:

  • Education to HNC/HND standard (or equivalent)
  • Ideal experience in Data Centre projects
  • Excellent time management
  • Relevant experience of estimating within a main contractor
  • Proficient IT skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Valid driving licence to travel to sites
