Primary SEND Teaching Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Barnet. As a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring teacher or education professional to gain valuable experience working with children with SEND. The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching staff to provide individualized support to pupils, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that pupils with SEND receive the support they need.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, reporting back to the SEND team and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and other professionals, working collaboratively to support the needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting pupils with SEND.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A strong understanding of the needs of pupils with SEND and the importance of providing individualized support.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to the development of a supportive and inclusive learning environment.Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.About Us
