Primary SEND Teaching Assistant Job Summary

We are working with a primary school in Barnet that caters to their SEND children graciously, and intently.

The school we are working with is looking for a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to assist their children with across the school, and they are looking for the Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to assist the pupil's learning, and academic and social-emotional progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide classroom support to 4-11 year-olds with various needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, Speech and Communication Difficulties, and ADHD and other needs.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals and groups of students, prioritizing a tailored approach to the individual needs of the pupils.
  • Monitor pupils and assess, record and report on pupil achievement, progress and development, and report findings back to the SEND Team.
  • Build core skills and support a strong knowledge base through a tailored approach to the individual needs of the pupils.
  • Work within a high staff-to-pupil ratio to enable an individualized approach to learning.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers and family.
  • Work with CAMHS, the School Nursing Service and Early Help and Social Care teams.
